Micil Distillery has officially unveiled their first ever limited edition cask strength Irish whiskey.   The releases are available exclusively through their newly relaunched online shop.

The revamped www.micildistillery.com opened on 1st March 2022 shines a fresh light on Micil’s story, the distillery, the upgraded tour offerings that include two additional distillery experiences, the product portfolio, the cask ownership offering, and an online shop.

Just 200 bottles of each cask strength whiskey will be released. Both whiskeys are from Micil’s core range of Micil Inverin and Micil Earls Island whiskeys.

Micil Inverin Small Batch Cask Strength is bottled at 60.6% and is limited to 200 bottles. The whiskey is fruit forward with a strong sweetness and wood spice. Instant shortbread aromas are surrounded by stewed apples, lemon drops and vanilla, along with coconut flaked chocolate and a mix of peppercorns to finish. The peat is refined & relaxed but develops with a drop of water. RRP €75.

Micil Earls Island Cask Strength is bottled at 59.2% and is limited to 193 bottles. The whiskey is bold and spicy with a fruity, sweet backbone. Ripe red berries, liquorice and clove are enveloped by rhubarb crumble, marzipan, vanilla sweetness and spiced chocolate flakes to finish. RRP €80.

Micil Distillery co-founder Ross Tobin said: “Our new website is a major milestone for our distillery and brand. We now have an online space that showcases our unique heritage and authenticity and highlights the care and devotion we put into creating our products. We have to thank Nicola Martin & all the Bord Bia Brand Forum for their support on this project, along with our design partners Threebrand, and web developers Castle33 for bringing it to life. We’re proud to have an online home that really draws people in to our journey.”

Commercial Manager Mark McLaughlin added: “We wanted to give consumers a chance to taste our independently bottled whiskeys in their natural form, with maximum influence from both the spirits chosen & the casks we sourced, offering a feast of flavour for any whiskey drinker. With less than 200 bottles of each being released we expect them to go fast, but we will be continuing to release limited bottlings of Irish whiskey & poitín exclusively through our online shop & at the distillery in the future.”
