Cherry Hibiscus Sparkler
“In this refreshing low-ABV cocktail, tangy, tropical hibiscus and sweet dark cherries complement the ripe and luscious Port, while sparkling wine adds an extra splash of festive flair,” says Sarah.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Sandeman Founder’s Reserve Port
- 5 dark cherries, pitted
- .5 oz simple syrup
- .5 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz hibiscus tea, cooled to room temperature
- 2 oz sparkling wine
- Garnish: lime wedge and pitted cherries
Method
- In a rocks glass, combine cherries, simple syrup, and lime juice
- Muddle until the cherries’ juices are released
- Add Port and hibiscus tea
- Add ice and transfer the cocktail back and forth into a cocktail tin and back into the glass until well combined
- Top with sparkling wine
- Lightly stir and garnish with a lime wedge and a skewer of cherries
Tawny Fascinator
“ This refreshing recipe is a play on the classic ‘Brown Derby’ cocktail, traditionally made with Bourbon and grapefruit. This version lightens up the classic version with a split base of Sandeman’s 10 Year Old Tawny Port and Bourbon, and a touch of elderflower to complement the grapefruit,” says Sarah.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Sandeman 10-Years-Old Tawny Port
- 1 oz Bourbon
- 1.5 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- ½ oz elderflower liqueur
- Method: Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker
Method
- Add ice and shake until well chilled, 15-20 seconds
- Strain into a chilled coupe glass
- Garnish with a grapefruit twist
